Travel Day – Florida Diaries

Hello! In my last post I was unsure whether or not to do Florida posts but I mainly want to do it so I have it to look back on! I am not going to spam you all I am going to dot them between posts.

Anyway I traveled from Manchester to Sanford Florida with Thomson airlines. The flight was 11:25 so plenty of time for a Frankies and Bennies breakfast (was that hungry there is sadly no picture) then onto WHSmiths for some water and magazines.

I have never done a long haul flight before so a 9 hour flight was very daunting for someone who isn’t a fan of flying! However it was free drinks (soft and alcoholic) the whole flight and also two meals and snacks.  After about an hour we were given a bit of chicken and veg and some crackers with cheese. Just your standered plane meal, about an hour before landing we were given a roll and scone. I was so disappointed with the TV and films available but it did the job.

Thomson Plane Tv

We arrived in Sanford around 3:30 and had to wait for a storm to pass before leaving the plane. Then we had to queue at the boarder to have a face to face questioning by boarder control where they questioned your visit and took finger prints.

After we got our bags I was sat on a Micky mouse bus off to the hotel! 1 hour a lot of rain and traffic later I arrived at Conorado Springs Resort Disney. Even from the lobby I was happy with the choice of hotel it was modern, clean and very over the top! With Disney being so popular I was expecting a tiny room with it just being the two of us but it was very spacious with a HUGE bed!

View outside our room. 1/3 pools

By now it was about 6 and I was tired and hungry so I went to the hotels restaurant and had a quick serve meal (Disney terms for counter services).

Pizza and Minute Maid 😛

Trying to beat the jet lag I decided that going to watch the “amazing” fireworks at Magic Kingdom to decide for myself. I have to say if you visit Florida at all go to Magic Kingdom at night and watch the fireworks brought a tear to my eye and I felt 5 again!
Magic Kingdom Happily Ever After
That was all for the first day of my trip to Florida! I hope you enjoyed reading this little travel blog! Comment your favourite county to visit!

The Best And Worst Skin Care For Oily Skin!

Hello! At the moment I am so obsessed with skin care and trying to make it look the best it has! This post is in collaboration with Julia I am going to tell you my best and worst for Oily skin and if you go visit Julia’s blog if you suffer with dry skin!

I have suffered with oily/spot prone skin since I was about 12/13, so I have tried out my fair share of face washes, scrubs and masks from drug store and high end products! Obviously everyones skin is different these may or may not work on my skin and might not on yours! So lets get started..

BEST

  • The Body Shop Tea Tree face wash- I have done a full review on this so click here to read more, but this is by far my favourite product for my oily/spot prone skin. I feel as if this products calms my skin helping ease my spots and clean my face! I suffer with hormonal break outs and I use this everyday and it certainly helps reduce the pain/size of the spots. It is only £6 from the body shop, they have a range of products if the face wash is not for you.img_0524
  • L’oreal Charcoal mask- Now I have tried majority of the charcoal masks available in boots, and this one if by far the best! You can see results straight after the first use, I find this mask helps to purify my skin and really helps unclog my pores! Depending on where you buy this from it ranges from £5-£7, I have hardly used any of mine a little goes a long way.18556320_1348311915248396_2227007549030620367_n
  • Benefit Boo Boo Zap- If you suffer from “teenage spots” then this one is for you, you know the big red spots that take up your whole cheek for about a week! I used to swear by this product, it helps reduce the redness and swelling of your blemishes. Its such an easy product to use, you just dab a bit on your finger and apply to the blemish! Its £14 from boots so a little pricer but you only need a little bit so lasts a while.Processed with VSCO with a5 preset

WORST

  • Sanctuary Spa warming Detox Charcoal Mask- I was so excited to try this product day after I instantly regretted it, I broke out with so many spots after using this mask! I only bought a sample size which was about £2/3. I really don’t recommend using this if you suffer from blemishes! Didn’t do anything to my face and also burnt my face.
  • Clean & Clear Advantage Spot Treatment Gel- I bought this in a trio where I had a toner and face wash too and was so disappointed it just did nothing for my skin. I have always found Clean and Clear to sting my face when using it especially on blemishes! This product didn’t break me out but its supposed to ease your spots and it didn’t do anything to mine.img_0746
  • Clearasil Ultra Rapid Action Pads- People always rave about Clearasil being a good brand. However I think it does nothing for my face like clean and clear it always tends to sting my skin on application, then leaves my skin feeling really oily! These are ok if you want something to freshen your skin up mid day but not as a spot/ oily skin treatment.

Oily Skin DO’s

  • Try and have no make up days, this really helps your skin, so be confident and have a few no make up days.
  • Take your make up off to work out!
  • Don’t avoid moisturising, your skin will become dry with too many spot products.

Oily Skin DONTs

  • Avoid the tooth paste myth, some believe it helps whereas it really doesn’t all it does is irritate your skin and causes peeling
  • Wash your face with water instead of using face wipes as more pure!
  • Don’t overload on products, don’t be using 10 spot products on your skin at once as the more products the more chemicals are on your face!

That is all for my Best and Worst products for Oily Skin, If you suffer from dry skin the jump over to Julia’s blog to view her post! Let me know what you love skincare wise!

Thanks for reading.

The Body Shop Haul

Now I hope this is going to be my last haul until after my holidays now 🙈. As I need to stop spending money on everything and anything! Recently I have been obsessed with skincare, I have been using a product from The Body Shop for my spots and loved it (read about it here) so I decided to experiment with some more of there products.

I have oily skin which is very dull and tired,  I also find too many anti oil products make it dry! I know I can’t win, so at the moment I am experimenting new products.

So I’ll get started on what I have recently bought from the body shop. Bought all of this online except 2!

First thing I picked up was the Seaweed oil balancing Toner. I haven’t used a toner since I was about 15 and used to use it religiously, found a lot of toners on the high street very harsh on my skin. However this one leaves your skin feeling clean and fresh and doesn’t sting or tingle when your apply it! I do think it has helped to balance the oil out in my skin, if you’re looking for a gentle toner then this is one for you! I just apply a little bit on a cotton pad and apply to my face gently!

Every summer I forget how important Vitamin C is for my skin! I always end up burning my face or getting dry patches on my skin so I thought this might help! I’ve only used this once so far and so far so good I couldn’t believe how AMAZING this smelt if you do not like the smell of oranges then maybe avoid this one but I think it smells amazing. As for the product it’s self, I really like it it’s very silking on the skin! Leaves your skin feeling hydrated and healthy, definitely pop into your local store to test this one out!!

Again with the vitamin C. As stated above my skin is quite dull, especially when I wear no make up which makes me feel very insecure about my bare face. Only used this once so haven’t got a lot to say about it apart from it did make my skin look and feel a little less dull!

I am someone who loves a good face mask so couldn’t not pick up some of their face masks to try!

Vitamin E sleeping mask- I have never tried a sleeping mask before I know a lot of high end skin care brands sell them and they intrigue me! If moisturising before bed is good then a mask must be even better! I tried this out last night for the first time and I am so impressed. It is quite thick on your face at first and sticky (so try not to touch your face!), however I woke up this morning and my skin didn’t look as tired and dull and it usually does at 7am!

Seaweed Clay Mask- I am so excited to try this after how nice the seaweed toner felt on my face! I love a good clay mask and they tend to really help my skin, if any of you have tried this then let me know!

The last thing I bought was their mango shower gel, I have been using the body shop shower gel for years!! I know I love this scent too so just bought it to take on holiday with me!

There we go so that is all I bought from the body shop! Let me know your favourite body shop products. Thank you for reading.

Big Clothing Haul!!

Hello! I have come to the end of my time off from work from my birthday week off :(. Todays post is going to be a clothing haul as I have just been shopping to find some bits for my holidays, and to have a mooch around! I was going to do a “What I got for my birthday” but I had mostly money so I will leave that for this year I think, anyway I will get started.

Starting off with Zara, with me I find it hard to shop in store at zara. It is always messy which drives my OCD mad and nothing looks like it goes together. However I did manage to find a lovely pair of shorts which are high waisted with a tie waist, love the tie waist trend as bottoms are usually too big on me or hard to get over my bum so I get away with a bigger size and tying the wait tight!18581792_1356561444423443_6180109228209767922_n

Jack Wills was next, usually I never buy anything from here as I feel like it’s a tad pricey but they did however have a sale section. I managed to find to lovely t-shirts the first being the white one (£14) which is a slouchy over sized T, and the pink( £19) just being a normal t-shirt.18557234_1356561454423442_6072400593232236006_n

Next was Primark, it always amazes me how you fill a basket and it comes to less than say £30 MINDBLOWN.

I decided to pick up two pairs of there cotton shorts as I live in these on holiday they are just so comfy and easy to where anywhere, they are also great for bed too!

18581851_1356561474423440_3531528296336848713_n.jpg

I have a habit of not being able to walk out of Primark without Pjs, and my dad goes absolutely mental as I drift towards the pj section. However I could not leave these there, I have seen the Marie ones all over Instagram but they didn’t have them, so picked up these for my trip to Florida in two weeks!18557287_1356561487756772_6957208216303490837_n

Flip Flops, every summer I buy these they are stupidly priced at 90p and I take them on holiday and just leave them there, chose pink this year!!

Now for the random bits and bobs they put along the queues at the tills, yano them things you totally need. Mini empty containers, I wanted something to put suncream in for when we are at the disney parks save carrying a huge bottle of suncream with us, so these will come in handy! Next was a hair towel, I dry my hair far too often and I want to start looking after it a big more, so I am currently looking at hair masks (Let me know if you have faves) so got this so I keep my hair out the way while masking!18581692_1356561511090103_2649804178127122713_n

Lush!! I have been seeing everyone on instagram trying out this new “think pink” bath bomb and just had to give it a go. Haven’t used it yet but heard great reviews. Keep an eye on my Instagram for updates!18622574_1356561551090099_5029228829383460590_n.jpg

Last but not least was Pandora, I know pandora is a love or hate thing but I love it so, had a gift card off my dad and decided to get a new ring and I am so obsessed with it. I don’t think it looks like your typical pandora ring either.18619947_1356561554423432_2793318624387475954_n

Anyway thats it for my haul I really hope you enjoyed it.

L’oreal Pure Clay Detox Mask

Hello and happy Tuesday! Todays post is going to be on a product that has been circulating the blogsphere for months now. After reading numerous blog post I caved and bought the L’oreal Pure Clay mask myself. I have used it for the first time about 2 hours ago and what to give you a review on how I have found the mask. Lets get started..

The mask is currently £5.99 in boots, down from £7.99, comes in a box with the product in a glass container with a plastic lid. Feels very high end rather than drug store if I am honest great quality packaging.

18446910_1348311901915064_5932103886768813355_n

What it claims?

  • Immediately: skin is pure and clearer
  • One week: skin feels fresher and more luminous
  • On going use: skin can breathe and is visibly transformed

On the box it claims that it can be used 10 times, I beg to differ as I hardly used any on my first application. The product is in date for 12 months after being opened!

How To Use

On clean skin, apply a thin layer all over the face 2-3 times a week. avoid the eyes and lips then leave to dry for 10-15 minutes, then remove with a wash cloth and warm water.

My Application

I used a flat foundation brush to apply the product, hardly took any product used the excess off the lid! A little bit went a long way which I was very impressed. The product was very smooth when I was applying wasn’t rough like some masks are.

This is the first time I have used a brush to apply a face mask and I can say what a bloody good idea. It feels nicer, cleaner and less messier! I cleaned my brush first of course and washed the brush after it!

18486365_1348311898581731_133795429997625253_n

Whats the mask like when set

One thing I like in a mask is when it hardens on your skin, then I feel like its doing something. Once it is dry then it goes all dotty when the product gets into your pores, looks funny but its cleaning out them pores!

(Warning face mask face)

18519572_1348311908581730_8245720760642220833_n

Wash off

To wash it off I used a warm wash cloth and it came off so easily no scrubbing was required! A lot of people said it was “messy” I however did not find the washing off stage to be messy at all.

Overall Opinion

Obviously my opinion might be different to others but I loved this product. My skin looks clearer after a few hours and feels smoother, I think the texture of the mask is very rich considering its a drug store mask! This opinion is based on me having oily and spot prone skin! Cannot wait to see the results after a few uses, feel free to comment and let me know your experiences with this mask or if you have tried the other two Loreal masks!

April Favourites

Hello and happy sunday💕. Again it is that time of the month where I complain about how quick the month has gone! Tomorrow is the first day in May and I’m so excited as it’s my birthday month!!

I haven’t tried many new make up/beauty products this month so it’s an array of items this time!

Make up/Beauty

Porefessional primer-  I have been absolutely loving this product the past month or so! I have very oily skin and this primer makes my skin feel silly smooth in a nob greasy way! It is a very lightweight product and I love wearing it!
Laura Geller powder foundation- I have been using this as a powder rather than a “powder foundation” it is great for coverage and really gives me that flawless look without looking too cakey!

Boiing concealer- I’ve spoke about this ALOT but this month seems to be the worst for spots and under eye circles. If you are in need of a good concealer then definitely give this one a go!

Pixi Caroline Hirons double cleanse- in my blog post review on this I was a little harsh but after about 2 months I cannot live without this product. I much prefer using this to take my make up off rather than my usual micealler water. Only down fall is when I use it on my eyes they run like water falls!

They’re real double the lip (rose)- got this in my birch box and I have used it every day since! Definitely going to be buying a full size version of it!!

Miscellaneous

Eastenders- if you don’t know what eastenders is then it’s a uk soap drama that’s on weekdays! I have been loving watching this recently the story line at the moment is on bullying and the characters are making the story very believable and relatable.

Water- trying to cut down on sugary drinks was a lot easier than I thought! I am a Pepsi and coke addict and usually drink 2 bottles a day (which is bad I know) I have started filling a big water bottle up and drinking that during my dinner in work.

iPhone 7- this month I upgraded my phone! Only from the 6 to the 7 but it’s surprising how slow my other phone was and how good the camera is on the 7!

Toon blast- I am not one for games on my phone but downloaded this recently when my wifi went down and I’m so addicted. If you are looking for a public transport game or a kill 10 minutes of the day game then get this! It’s free!!!

Thank you so much for reading this! Let me know some books you guys like ATM as I want to get back into reading x

Love me beauty box review (monthly subscription)

Hello again! As I promised I am back with a review of my new monthly beauty subscription box from “love me beauty”.

This box sounds a bit too good to be true to start with you pay £13.95 a month and each month you get 60 credits, then there is a selection of beauty items to pick from!

I picked 4 products in total using up all my 60 credits! I picked the eco tools brush set, make up forever powder, Amie face washes and a suncream for sensitive skin! I was so impressed by the same sizes!

Eco tools six piece starter collection- SO IMPRESSED! I thought these were going to be a travel size kit and they’re actually full size! The brushes look fantastic quality. Cannot wait to try these out!

Ultra sun SPF for sensitive skin- I go on holiday in just over a months time and hate putting sun cream on my face! I’ve bought this hoping it will not be as greasy as normal creams! Very impressed with the sample size this will probably last me my whole holiday!

Amie face wash and moisturiser- these are only 5points and I had 5 left to spend so I just picked these. They look good, sample sizes are quite generous and the packaging is cute!

Make up forever loose powder- I was shocked to see such a high end product in the list! (Also had Kat Von D too!!!!!) I really want to be more adventurous with my make up and I want a good loose powder so dying to try this! The actual container isn’t the biggest but I feel it will last a while!

Well that’s my first love me beauty review! ✅

Like my birch box reviews I will continue to do a review every month!

Melissa
