Battle Of The Micellar Water’s

Hello again. We are now into September and shops are starting to get their Christmas items sent in and there big fluffy coats (fur coat on my list this year!). Over the last year or so I feel like the skin care world has exploded there’s micellar water for any problem out there. All the options out there both high end and drug store make it very difficult to know what’s worth the hype and what’s just a load of rubbish.

My skin is Normal/Oily and I suffer from spots on my skin, mainly just hormonal and stress. I will be doing a short write up about my experience with each product and also rating them out of 10. Obviously the opinions are my own so you might like the product I dislike, but I thought sharing my opinion may benefit some.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

I went through a period of repurchasing this item every time I emptied the bottle. I wouldn’t say it does anything for my skin that actually benefits my skin in anyway, although it does remove my make up. However I do not think it’s the best for removing eye make up it is a very dry (if you can get a dry water). Although for you guys with oily skin out there this water would be great as there isn’t any oil, and it doesn’t leave your skin feeling oily like some make up removers does.

I would give this a 7/10.

Price: I think the price of the micellar water is very reasonable; it is always on offer in one drug store or another! It also lasts a while too, I always think getting the bigger bottles is worth it!

Simple Kind To Skin Micellar Cleansing Water

2283246

I only bought this once, so for me that does say a lot. Like the Garnier water I don’t think it did a lot for my skin, I remember it being a lot more gentle than most Micellar Waters I have tried. I think if you suffer from sensitive skin then this one is calling your name, for me I wear a lot of make up daily so I need something with enough power to get every little bit off my skin!

I would give this a 6/10

Price: I always find simple products to be quite expensive, on boots website it is £4.95 at the moment which for a make up remover I find a little pricey.

Garnier Skin Naturals Micellar Cleansing Water Combination & Sensitive Skin

Garnier-Skin-Naturals-Micellar-Cleansing-Water-Combi-400ml-460800
Despite the fact I haven’t bought this one as much as the other Garnier water (pink), I do think this one is one of my favourites. Unlike the other micellar waters I find that this one is much better at removing eye make up. I love the feel it gives my face after using it, makes your skin feel very refreshed! However I don’t think if your skin is very dry then it may dry your skin out a little bit, but it does work in my favour. I do although find I need to moisturise a lot more when using this.

I would give this an 8/10

Price: Very much like the other Garnier water, its always-on offer somewhere. So the price does jump about a bit, always shop around if you are thinking about purchasing this.

Nivea Daily Essentials Gentle Caring Micellar Water Dry Skin

Now I know what you’re thinking I don’t have dry skin… Buying this one was a total fault however it has worked in my favour, this one removes my make up better than any micellar water I have ever bought! It is a little oily but nothing too harsh for my oily skin, think it really helps removing my eye make up especially mascara! I am on I think my 4th bottle of this stuff and am yet to find something that matches up to it.

I would give this a 9/10

Price: I think that this product is the best price wise. It is usually around £2/3 for a large bottle (400ml) Savers, Boots and pound worlds always have this Micellar water in stock and it’s always on offer!
Thank you so much for reading this post it was a long one, let me know your favorite miceller waters I have a couple on my “to try list”.

Lush Halloween And Christmas Wish List

Now I am a lush addict and love near enough everything they create from bath bombs to hair masks you name it I will try it! I love the fact their products are not tested on animals and are ok for veggies and vegans to use!

After ready a couple of blog posts I have create my very own wish list for what I want to pick up next time I pop into store!

I have to admit I am not a huge fan of Halloween I am more of a Christmas type of girl. However I rather a nice bath with some goodies than a Halloween party any day!

img_2827

First item I found is the Pink Pumpkin, now I love pink and I love glitter so this is everything I like in a bath product. By looking at the product I think it’s going to smell quite feminine and floral with a zest of lemon in there too. Only thing I do now like about bubble bars is having to crumble it under the water and they turn out to be very messy and sometimes stain your baths so they require a little bleach… I am dying to get my hands on this little pink pumpkin but will definitely be cutting it up as £4.25 for a few bubbles is a little pricey, but its all about the novelty right?

img_2828-1Next up is the monsters ball, I think this bath bomb looks so cute! I love the detail that lush put into creating all their bath bombs. By the sounds of the ingredients of this bomb it sounds like it is going to be a very sweet scent so maybe stay away from this cutie if you’re not into sweet scents. I also find that the pink bombs are always the most pigmented in the water and always leave your bath a lovely colour! £4.50 is a bit on the dear side so I can imagine that this bath bomb is going to be a little bigger than your normal ball like bath bomb.

img_2829-1

The last thing that I liked the look of out of their Halloween range is the Pumpkin bath bomb I mainly think the look of this appeals to me the most! From looking at the ingredients I think the scent will be very spicy, almost pumpkin like! I am hoping that I do enjoy the scent of this one, as some brands can over do the “pumpkin” smell and thats way to strong for my little nose as I am more of a sweet scent type of person. However for the novelty of it I will definitely try this one out, like the previous bomb this one is £4.25 so hopefully a little larger than other bombs..

Now it’s time for my favourite season every and also my favourite season for lush products…. CHRISTMAS.

img_2830

Now I feel like you are either a snow fairy person or you aren’t and I certainly am! This year I am so excited that Lush have brought out so many snow fairy products, its really nice to see the scent used in more than two items as it is such a good seller. I am yet to try out one of the jelly bombs yet and have heard that they are a little messy but I think I can justify the mess for the scent? The price of this one is steep, £4.95 for a bomb, I think if I do pick this one up I will cut it up a bit.

img_2832Now this one that I got so bloody excited over “christmas sweater” put a cute reindeer on a product and some snow and you have your self a buyer! The name of this one appealed to me as well as the bomb its self, it just looks like such a warm bath bomb for a cold winters night. After looking at the ingredients to this bomb I was certainly correct, the scent is going to be quite spicy and strong so I would keep away if you’re only a fan of scents such as snow fairy. The price isn’t too bad on this one £4.50 for a christmas themed bomb.

img_2833

Now this one really caught my eye yet another brand new bomb from lush “thundersnow”. This is one for all you sweet scent lovers out there, on the website one staff member of lush has described it as “mint chocolate chip ice cream” now I cant even imagine my bath smelling of ice cream but I am more than happy to give this one a go. I don’t think lush have ever brought out something like this before especially around christmas time!

img_2834

Now I cannot remember if they did this particular bath bomb last christmas but the certainly did something similar. This bomb looks like it is going to be very sweet smelling, refreshing and also moisturising, which is something I would not of gathered from the name at all! I was imaging something warm and spicy but the complete opposite. So maybe if you take your baths in the morning then this will be a great way to start off your winter mornings.

img_2838

Another newbie by Lush is “Plum Snow” and I absolutely love the name already. Looking at the ingredients I think this one is going to be a bit of a mixture between sweet and spicy. No mention of plum in any of the ingredients but who knows until I actually sample one. Now this bubble bar is hella pricey £5.95 for some bubbles, so I think unless I am head over heals with this scent I might just give it a miss..

img_2841

Now this one is new to me I don’t know about Lush, but I have not heard of the Snow Fairy Body Conditioner. Now lush’s body and hair products I find to be very pricey for the amount you get and also messy as they do come in containers rather than squeezy bottles. However I feel like if you suffer with dry skin and you are a snow fairy fan then this will be right down your street!

img_2842

I need this in my life, I have no idea for the life of me what a cold pressed soap is but I know for sure that I want to try it out! Also I can justify the price for a soap as you do get more than one use out of it, and for the scent of snow fairy (heart eye emoji!). I also really love the design of this little gem its almost child like.

img_2843

What the hell is a sparkle jar? Don’t worry I had to research this one too by the sounds of the description it is a moisture bar that melts with heat (so on your skin). This sounds so indulgent and I can really imagine it to soften your skin and leave behind the lovely sweet scent of snow fairy and will probably leave some glitter.

Well that is all I am lusting and wishing I owned at the moment from Lush’s new halloween and christmas collections. Please let me know in the comments if you have tried any of their new bombs, melts or anything else Lush create! I hope you have enjoyed reading this post, I will be sure to do a haul soon when I visit Lush.

Primark Haul

Hello again and I am back with yet another blinking haul.. This time a much loved Primark Haul, I popped in purposely to kill time and to find a onesie I saw online (didn’t find it), as well as the onesie I wanted some new gym wear, apparently not the best time to buy gym gear as there was next to nothing there. So as you guess I decided to get all sorts of random bits and bobs that I did not need..

Before I went to Florida back in June you will remember me buying a similar set to these in pink, well I have had so much use out of them I just had to buy another set. It is only £5 for the cropped top and shorts and I love to wear them to bed after I have applied fake tan, as there is nothing worse than tan sticking and staining your clothes. Primark have all sorts of designs in this set at the moment! They are great if you’re going on holiday

When I was younger I used to absolutely love night dresses, as i’ve grown I started thinking they were ugly and they are but they are so comfy. Primark have recently starting selling them in so many mainly disney designs and when it comes to pjs and disney together I have to buy them so when I saw this Marie one I had to pick it up I am pretty sure its around the £5 mark. I recently bought myself some slippers for my boyfriends house as he has tiled and wooden floors everywhere. So I have recently became a slipper person and am loving the comfort on my feet while walking about my house. Primark slippers are so cheap but last for so long!

I died when I saw this bra, is it weird showing bras on your blog? I am all about this mauve pink colour at the moment and love the lace detailing. For £7 I had to pick it up, Primark bra’s last me a life time! I am not very gifted in that department so I don’t require a lot of support but the Primark bra’s seem to do the trick for me. These are the bits you pick up when you’re stood in the queue, whoever came up with this idea in Primark is the devil. I didn’t need a new USB, but what if mine breaks and I need one there and then? I love Primark’s phone chargers as they’re so long. The room defuser smells heavenly as well and who doesn’t need a sweet smelling room? For £1 I just couldn’t not pick it up.

Last but not least is this gorgeous Marie jumper, now if you follow Primark or majority of bloggers on Instagram then you would of seen this before. They have so many cute disney jumpers out at the moment and they’re perfect for just throwing on in cold winter nights! It was £8 which I think is very reasonable for a jumper, and I have not washed it yet but the quality seems great.

Thank you so much for reading my little Haul, I am well over due a shopping spree so let me know in the comments where you are buying your best pieces from at the moment!

Primark Beauty – is it worth it?

Hello! Now a subject everyone is curious of is Primark and their venture into the beauty world! They are selling everything these days from pore strips to nail varnish and I am curious myself to know what everything is like, so let’s get started.

First thing I wanted to get my hands on are the PS nose pore strips, these were jut £1 for 4 strips!

BRILLIANT! These pull everything right out, I’ve used all sorts of brands when it comes to pore strips and these are by far the best, stomp all over Sephora Pore Strips! The only downfall is they do hurt to peel off and they leave a little white residue around you nose. However it does come straight off with water!

I have tested so many pore strips recently and these are the best by far.

9/10

Sili Sponge, something that everyone is raving about at the moment so for £2 I had to test it out! Used it today for the first time with my foundation. I think these are defiantly not a product for a make up newbie as they are quite difficult to get to grips with.

You need next to no foundation when using these babies as they will smear the littlest bit of foundation all over your face. I would say for someone who has a little more time when doing their make up then its a great way of saving on foundation as a little goes a long way.. However you still need to blend it out with either a brush or beauty blender!

6/10

If you read my blog then you will know that I love a good highlight, so when I saw these for £3 I just couldn’t leave them there! I never usually go for crayons I am more of a powder gal but who knows if I don’t try right?

After some testing these have become my best friends when doing eye make up looks, they look amazing on the brow bone and also on the inner corners of the eye!

8/10

Sticking to the same pattern, another highlighting stick the colour is very pinky and at the moment I am loving a pink highlight.

The only thing I am finding with stick highlighters is that they require a little more effort than you usual powder ones. As you do need to blend them in after you have swiped them over your cheek bones etc.

8/10

Can’t say no to nude colour nail polish am I right? I could not leave these colours there they are gorgeous 1 mauve pink a 1 nude/purple and 1 creamy colour.

I work in retail so it’s quite hands on meaning nail varnish doesn’t last very long on me because I am constantly using my hand. However I am bloody loving these I think for the price of them you cannot go wrong they last around a week for me just like all nail varnishes.

The pigmentation in the colours is great too. I usually have to do around two coats like I do with all nude colours, so I am impressed.

9/10

Brushes! I think with brushes you can either fail or win there isn’t an in between, as I was strolling round the make up I stubbled upon a small sale section and was instantly sucked in!

I bought a couple one from their trolls range and the other set was just a normal set of brushes. I can happily say I am impressed, for the price of these you just cannot go wrong I would say if you are new to make up and want some cheapy brushes just to have a play about with then these are for you! Also really good for your handbag save taking out your expensive brushes as there is nothing worse than either losing or breaking an expensive brush!

Something that has become my everyday favourite from Primark. Sounds very silly as they’re only cotton pads but I really like the size of these not just the size of the pad also the amount you get in them as I do use 2/3 a day to get off my eye make up. For 90p you cannot go wrong when boots and other drug stores are charging £2 ish for this size and many.

Let me know if there are any Primark beauty products that you are loving in the comments! Thank you for reading don’t forget to follow!

Day Nine and Ten – Florida Diaries

Hello everyone! I hope you have enjoyed my florida diaries and if not then this is the last one. i have combined the last two days together just because we didn’t do much at all.

DAY NINE

We woke up around 10 o’clock and went straight for breakfast, wanting to take in the last of the Florida sun we decided to jump in the pool after breakfast and chill out. After a few hours in the pool we went back to the room and packed up our cases and jumped in the shower to freshen up.

After freshening up we went to the restaurant and had some dinner, of course I had to have pizza for the last time!

After dinner we hoped on the bus to Magic kingdom, and guess what more RAIN! We had our ponchos with us and was not going to let rain ruin our evening. We got fast passes for Buzz lightyear and thunder mountain.  We got on a lot of rides this evening such as astro orbiter ( I hated every minute), again we went on the carrousel and dumbo.

With it being our last day we had to try all the foods we wanted to try churros, corn dogs and pop corn.

Come 10pm we were in a good spot ready to watch the fireworks for the last time, again tears in our eyes, the fireworks were beautiful and we didn’t want to leave!

DAY TEN – TRAVEL DAY

We were up 9 am and ready for the day, we handed our cases to the people at the desk to keep hold of, and we popped off to Disney Springs… Present shopping time, we hopped from shop to shop and bought some bits and bobs.

Hot and tired, we headed back to the hotel to wait for our transfer back to the airport.

Sanford airport is tiny, hardly no duty free nor food so killing 2 hours was a little tricky, however the time came to board the plane and we were off again!

6am we landed in Manchester after a very easy and quick 7.5 hour flight, we got back home as slept for a good 10 hours and woke up ate and then slept again… ops.

Thank you so much for reading my florida diaries.

SkinKissed Vitamin C Serum Review

Hello everyone I hope you have all had a lovely week and a very relaxing Sunday. Today’s blog post is another skin care post, lately I have been investing into my skincare more than my make up as it is so important to look after your skin.

Since I started high school (many years ago now) I suffered from acne, dark circles and hyper pigmentation in certain areas of my face. I think I speak on behalf of so many young girls out there in saying that this can really ruin your confidence levels, especially as a young teen.

I just turned 20 this year and I am still suffering from all the above so you name it I have tried it! With my skin being oily too, I have found a lot of products to be to harsh or oily for my skin. A product I have recently discovered in the SunKissed Vitamin C Serum, many serums I have used before I have found to be very oily and sticky! So after reading glorious reviews and doin countless research I gave it a go!

How will I help your skin?

• Plums and hydrates dry and dull skin

• Removes any acne on your skin

• Reduces wrinkles, fine lines & blemishes

• Leaves your skin feeling soft & fresh again

• Makes your skin look young again

•  The perfect base for your makeup

How does it work?

Main active ingredients contain: Vitamin C + Hyaluronic Acid  + Collagen

Each one of these ingredients carry powerful benefits which are designed to help you achieve healthy and natural looking skin.

Why use skinkissed serum?

• 30-day money back guarantee if you are not pleased with my results

• Carries very powerful and high percentages of active ingredients

• Contains no oil, so you will not experience any skin breakouts

• Leave a nice fresh fragrance on your skin

Never been tested on animals

My Opinion/Results

I have not put this stuff down since getting it, and I find that very rare to say with a skin product especially serums. Unlike most this does not feel oily on my skin something that I really look for in a product, the consistency is very smooth and sinks into the skin quickly not leaving that sticky feeling.

It states on their website that the serum works well as a base to your make up so I decided to give this ago too. Works GREAT as a primer makes applying cream products such as concealer and foundation so easy as they just glide so nicely around your face. Really does help to keep my make up on all day long, as well as this it also has really helped the condition of my skin when I remove my make up. Usually my skin is really dry and looks so tired when I remove my make up at night, however when I use the skin kissed serum as a primer I am finding it very soft and radiant.

The picture on the left below is me on the first night of trying out the serum, my skin was very lifeless, dark under eyes and a lot of hyper pigmentation. The picture below on the right is me now, about a month later. I can easily see a difference in my skin, overall I think it looks a lot my radiant and “plumped”

The Skin Kissed Serum is £39.95 HERE . However check out there page on amazon as they have been having some AMAZING offers on there recently CLICK HERE to visit SkinKissed on Amazon. For 20% off your whole order use the code melissaljonesx-20

Soap And Glory PORE REFINING MASK – review

When I saw these on Soap and Glory’s Instagram I could not resist so I was straight to boots and picked up the Pore Refining Sheet mask. Recently sheet masks are blowing up and every brand is bring out one or five different types.

I have oily skin, with blemishes and very dull skin so I am always looking for a mask that doesn’t leave my face oily!

I have to admit when I first opened the mask I was highly disappointed, it was soaking wet. I found it difficult to separate as it kept sticking and slipping out my hands, after separating the mask I popped it on my face to find it did not fit my face at all. It just didn’t fit the sides of my nose and my cheeks.

HOWEVER….

Despite the disaster so far, I wore the mask for 15 minutes like the instructions tell you. At first it tingles a little when you first apply the sheet to your face like a toner does sometimes, not uncomfortable more refreshing!  The mask has a fresh and fruity scent to it but not over powering, nor irritating to the skin!

After taking the mask off I dapped my face with a cotton pad just to get the excess product off my face.

My face 1 hour later is still soft, moisturised and my pores have reduced in size RESULT!

Would I buy this again?

YES. Really loved the result of this product, certainly the best sheet mask I have tried would recommend it over some of the other well known brands in Boots. Let me know your favourite sheet masks and thank you for reading!
