Love Me Beauty – June

Hello I am back, very tired, jet lagged and a little tanned I think the only way I can keep myself awake is to write this blog post! So todays post is going to be the June Love Me Beauty June bag/box, for those of you that are not familiar Love Me Beauty is a monthly subscription box where you pick what you want!

If you want to read more about the box then click here.

Any way I will get started this month I had extra credits to use so I got a little more than usually, but yet again I am so happy with the product quality. I got 5 products this month and a make up bag.

First Product I picked was the Eco Tools six piece day to night set, if you read my reviews each month then you will know how much I love the Eco Tools brushes that are available on love me beauty. This set comes with an angled face brush, pointed concealer brush, highlighting fan brush, eye shadow brush and a lip liner brush and also comes in a make up bag!19224874_1382753128470941_841660180065177837_n.jpg

Next thing I picked up was a Pop Band  I have heard really good things about these, if you don’t know what they are its a hair bobble. They are supposed to be gentle on your hair, going to start using them to sleep in.

Next thing I picked was a detox mask by caudalie, never heard of this brand before but I love a good detox mask. The packaging is great very sturdy and its 15ml which I think is a good size for a sample product.

The 4th product I chose this month was more brushes, I much rather receive tools as I grudge paying for them otherwise. This set is a little travel set and consists of a Powder and a foundation brush, I love travel size brushed as they don’t take up much room in your bag! Again these as Eco Tools so I know I will love them.

The Last product I picked up was mainly to test the brand itself they are Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips (press on lip stick), I have seen nothing but good things about CT and would love a good nude lipstick from there but want to see if they stay on all day! (any recommendations let me know!)

The Best And Worst Skin Care For Oily Skin!

Hello! At the moment I am so obsessed with skin care and trying to make it look the best it has! This post is in collaboration with Julia I am going to tell you my best and worst for Oily skin and if you go visit Julia’s blog if you suffer with dry skin!

I have suffered with oily/spot prone skin since I was about 12/13, so I have tried out my fair share of face washes, scrubs and masks from drug store and high end products! Obviously everyones skin is different these may or may not work on my skin and might not on yours! So lets get started..

BEST

  • The Body Shop Tea Tree face wash- I have done a full review on this so click here to read more, but this is by far my favourite product for my oily/spot prone skin. I feel as if this products calms my skin helping ease my spots and clean my face! I suffer with hormonal break outs and I use this everyday and it certainly helps reduce the pain/size of the spots. It is only £6 from the body shop, they have a range of products if the face wash is not for you.img_0524
  • L’oreal Charcoal mask- Now I have tried majority of the charcoal masks available in boots, and this one if by far the best! You can see results straight after the first use, I find this mask helps to purify my skin and really helps unclog my pores! Depending on where you buy this from it ranges from £5-£7, I have hardly used any of mine a little goes a long way.18556320_1348311915248396_2227007549030620367_n
  • Benefit Boo Boo Zap- If you suffer from “teenage spots” then this one is for you, you know the big red spots that take up your whole cheek for about a week! I used to swear by this product, it helps reduce the redness and swelling of your blemishes. Its such an easy product to use, you just dab a bit on your finger and apply to the blemish! Its £14 from boots so a little pricer but you only need a little bit so lasts a while.Processed with VSCO with a5 preset

WORST

  • Sanctuary Spa warming Detox Charcoal Mask- I was so excited to try this product day after I instantly regretted it, I broke out with so many spots after using this mask! I only bought a sample size which was about £2/3. I really don’t recommend using this if you suffer from blemishes! Didn’t do anything to my face and also burnt my face.
  • Clean & Clear Advantage Spot Treatment Gel- I bought this in a trio where I had a toner and face wash too and was so disappointed it just did nothing for my skin. I have always found Clean and Clear to sting my face when using it especially on blemishes! This product didn’t break me out but its supposed to ease your spots and it didn’t do anything to mine.img_0746
  • Clearasil Ultra Rapid Action Pads- People always rave about Clearasil being a good brand. However I think it does nothing for my face like clean and clear it always tends to sting my skin on application, then leaves my skin feeling really oily! These are ok if you want something to freshen your skin up mid day but not as a spot/ oily skin treatment.

Oily Skin DO’s

  • Try and have no make up days, this really helps your skin, so be confident and have a few no make up days.
  • Take your make up off to work out!
  • Don’t avoid moisturising, your skin will become dry with too many spot products.

Oily Skin DONTs

  • Avoid the tooth paste myth, some believe it helps whereas it really doesn’t all it does is irritate your skin and causes peeling
  • Wash your face with water instead of using face wipes as more pure!
  • Don’t overload on products, don’t be using 10 spot products on your skin at once as the more products the more chemicals are on your face!

L’oreal Pure Clay Detox Mask

Hello and happy Tuesday! Todays post is going to be on a product that has been circulating the blogsphere for months now. After reading numerous blog post I caved and bought the L’oreal Pure Clay mask myself. I have used it for the first time about 2 hours ago and what to give you a review on how I have found the mask. Lets get started..

The mask is currently £5.99 in boots, down from £7.99, comes in a box with the product in a glass container with a plastic lid. Feels very high end rather than drug store if I am honest great quality packaging.

18446910_1348311901915064_5932103886768813355_n

What it claims?

  • Immediately: skin is pure and clearer
  • One week: skin feels fresher and more luminous
  • On going use: skin can breathe and is visibly transformed

On the box it claims that it can be used 10 times, I beg to differ as I hardly used any on my first application. The product is in date for 12 months after being opened!

How To Use

On clean skin, apply a thin layer all over the face 2-3 times a week. avoid the eyes and lips then leave to dry for 10-15 minutes, then remove with a wash cloth and warm water.

My Application

I used a flat foundation brush to apply the product, hardly took any product used the excess off the lid! A little bit went a long way which I was very impressed. The product was very smooth when I was applying wasn’t rough like some masks are.

This is the first time I have used a brush to apply a face mask and I can say what a bloody good idea. It feels nicer, cleaner and less messier! I cleaned my brush first of course and washed the brush after it!

18486365_1348311898581731_133795429997625253_n

Whats the mask like when set

One thing I like in a mask is when it hardens on your skin, then I feel like its doing something. Once it is dry then it goes all dotty when the product gets into your pores, looks funny but its cleaning out them pores!

(Warning face mask face)

18519572_1348311908581730_8245720760642220833_n

Wash off

To wash it off I used a warm wash cloth and it came off so easily no scrubbing was required! A lot of people said it was “messy” I however did not find the washing off stage to be messy at all.

Overall Opinion

Obviously my opinion might be different to others but I loved this product. My skin looks clearer after a few hours and feels smoother, I think the texture of the mask is very rich considering its a drug store mask! This opinion is based on me having oily and spot prone skin! Cannot wait to see the results after a few uses, feel free to comment and let me know your experiences with this mask or if you have tried the other two Loreal masks!

Love Me Beauty MAY: review

Hello! Todays post is going to be another Love me beauty review, last months is HERE if you want to read that one, but lets get started.

This month I decided to go for bigger products as I was in need of some new tools, instead of make up. I am trying to cut down a little on buying make up as I now have so much I am hardly using the stuff I have.

18301602_1341618049251116_500895081905379502_n

Again I have been so happy with the products I picked this month, a little dissapointed in the manna Kadar Beauty not because of the actual products, but due to the size of the same. ANYWAY i’ll get on..

I am so into powder foundations and bronzers at the moment. I feel like this time of year you don’t want about 5 layers of make up on so a little foundation/powder and bronzer and you’re ready to go!

SAMPLE SIZE- HUGE! This is a full size brush for sure, I have used the brushes from last months box and absolutely loved the size of the brush!

FIRST THOUGHTS- SO SOFT. There is nothing worse than brissly  brushes am I right girls? These are amazing quality this cost me 20 CREDITS, which I think is fab

Like everyone I am forever wanting to perfect my contour skills. I thought this might help me out with cream contouring as I find it difficult to do and have yet to master it!

SAMPLE SIZE- Thought this product would of been a little bit bigger. Although seems a good product.

FIRST THOUGHTS- the beauty blender attached feels as if its good quality! Its a good size to hold its not to chunky, glides nicely over my skin!

After trying the MANNA KADAR powder and loving it I thought this was a good option to go for. I think lip glosses are great for this time of year!

SAMPLE SIZE- Tiny bit small! The image shows a full size product ( should of read the small print I guess). Guess it will still last me forever, as my lip products never seem to run out for me.

FIRST THOUGHTS- Absolutely love the colour of this product! Think its perfect for this time of year goes with any outfit! Might do a full review on this!!

MAKE UP BAG- as well as picking your products LOVE ME BEAUTY also gift you a small make up bag which is perfect for your handbag! This months is so beautiful it reads “Just wing it life eyeliner everything” which I love.

April Favourites

Hello and happy sunday💕. Again it is that time of the month where I complain about how quick the month has gone! Tomorrow is the first day in May and I’m so excited as it’s my birthday month!!

I haven’t tried many new make up/beauty products this month so it’s an array of items this time!

Make up/Beauty

Porefessional primer-  I have been absolutely loving this product the past month or so! I have very oily skin and this primer makes my skin feel silly smooth in a nob greasy way! It is a very lightweight product and I love wearing it!
Laura Geller powder foundation- I have been using this as a powder rather than a “powder foundation” it is great for coverage and really gives me that flawless look without looking too cakey!

Boiing concealer- I’ve spoke about this ALOT but this month seems to be the worst for spots and under eye circles. If you are in need of a good concealer then definitely give this one a go!

Pixi Caroline Hirons double cleanse- in my blog post review on this I was a little harsh but after about 2 months I cannot live without this product. I much prefer using this to take my make up off rather than my usual micealler water. Only down fall is when I use it on my eyes they run like water falls!

They’re real double the lip (rose)- got this in my birch box and I have used it every day since! Definitely going to be buying a full size version of it!!

Miscellaneous

Eastenders- if you don’t know what eastenders is then it’s a uk soap drama that’s on weekdays! I have been loving watching this recently the story line at the moment is on bullying and the characters are making the story very believable and relatable.

Water- trying to cut down on sugary drinks was a lot easier than I thought! I am a Pepsi and coke addict and usually drink 2 bottles a day (which is bad I know) I have started filling a big water bottle up and drinking that during my dinner in work.

iPhone 7- this month I upgraded my phone! Only from the 6 to the 7 but it’s surprising how slow my other phone was and how good the camera is on the 7!

Toon blast- I am not one for games on my phone but downloaded this recently when my wifi went down and I’m so addicted. If you are looking for a public transport game or a kill 10 minutes of the day game then get this! It’s free!!!

Thank you so much for reading this! Let me know some books you guys like ATM as I want to get back into reading x

Love me beauty box review (monthly subscription)

Hello again! As I promised I am back with a review of my new monthly beauty subscription box from “love me beauty”.

This box sounds a bit too good to be true to start with you pay £13.95 a month and each month you get 60 credits, then there is a selection of beauty items to pick from!

I picked 4 products in total using up all my 60 credits! I picked the eco tools brush set, make up forever powder, Amie face washes and a suncream for sensitive skin! I was so impressed by the same sizes!

Eco tools six piece starter collection- SO IMPRESSED! I thought these were going to be a travel size kit and they’re actually full size! The brushes look fantastic quality. Cannot wait to try these out!

Ultra sun SPF for sensitive skin- I go on holiday in just over a months time and hate putting sun cream on my face! I’ve bought this hoping it will not be as greasy as normal creams! Very impressed with the sample size this will probably last me my whole holiday!

Amie face wash and moisturiser- these are only 5points and I had 5 left to spend so I just picked these. They look good, sample sizes are quite generous and the packaging is cute!

Make up forever loose powder- I was shocked to see such a high end product in the list! (Also had Kat Von D too!!!!!) I really want to be more adventurous with my make up and I want a good loose powder so dying to try this! The actual container isn’t the biggest but I feel it will last a while!

Well that’s my first love me beauty review! ✅

Like my birch box reviews I will continue to do a review every month!

Best concealers Vs. Worst

I feel like finding the perfect concealer is pretty difficult, what needs hiding more blemishes, redness or dark circles am I right?

I thought I would just do a quick post on my top concealers to save you the hassle and £ on concealers! Also letting you know ones that haven’t made the cut for me!

BEST

  1. Benefits Boiing- I absolutely love this concealer it covers anything spots, darkness and redness and a little goes a long way. The consistency is creamy but I have oily skin and have no problems!
  2. L.A Girl (yellow) concealer- if you have dark under eye circles then this is for you! It stays on all day and is a very light formula so it doesn’t feel cakey!
  3. Sleek contour pallet- weird one. However there is 2 concealers in this pallet and they are fantastic almost as good as the benefit boiing (1).
  4. Bobbi brown retouching pen- the coverage of this isn’t the strongest very good for brightening under eyes or getting rid of discolouration before foundation.
  5. Rimmel wake me up concealer– cheap and cheerful. Some people absolutely love this, I think it’s good but doesn’t live up to its foundation (coverage wise). It’s not the best to cover the worse blemishes ever but can hide the little problems.

I don’t recommend

  1. NYX concealer in yellow –for me the problem with this product is that it’s too thin! I feel like it just sinks into my skin and hasn’t got enough of a staying power to cover the darkness.
  2. Lord and berry concealer stick – this is too rough for me it doesn’t glide over the skin nicely. The coverage isn’t good either. Also the smell of this is not the nicest.

Let me know in the comments what concealers you have loved and not.
